Below are a few play-a-long loops to help with your drumming practice. The accompaniments are simple, repeated 12 & 16 bar phrases using common chords across a wide tempo range. Each one's about 2 minutes long.

Use them in place of a metronome for the following types of Drumming practice:

  • Drum Kit Groove (fill) Practice  -  gives you a more realistic and beneficial way to practice your grooves and fills within the context of a musical phrase
  • Also  -  use them as accompaniments to practice along to if you're having percussion (or drum kit) lessons - play any Snare Drum solos, reading exercises, rudiments or sticking patterns along to the tracks

REMEMBER - be careful to pick a comfortable tempo for your practice!  If you're not sure, start with the first track and work through them in order - doing it this way will give you experience of playing and controlling slow tempos, an area often neglected by drummers.

  • Play along to it from your computer
  • Burn it to C.D. for practice elsewhere
  • Save it on your iPod or media player and do likewise - practice with it!
